Future of Cotton

Future of cotton and textile sales in the world

Prices of cotton have kept on the same range since October, 2015 with stocks at high levels, which will continue influencing on prices. However, it is the first time in 5 years that the worldwide production will not cover the total demand, which will decrease the total stock slightly, but the total demand of production for this fiber is not high enough to affect the price.

The main producer of cotton nowadays is India, and worldwide, cotton represents only a third part of the textile that is consumed. In Europe, synthetic fibers are still representing a 4% total of the textile consumption.

“Cotton is the main fiber to produce denim, which is used to manufacture garments which are more popular each day, the low price of cotton can be helpful to offer more competitive prices to our customers”, said Salomon Juan Marcos Villarreal, president of Grupo Denim, an enterprise dedicated to manufacture garments mainly made of denim.

The demands of the emerging economies in Asia is still strong, but the growth rate is diminishing significantly, plus some tensions on the Chinese market, such as the falling on competitiveness of cotton costs are causing a regrowth of business risks on this sector. On the more developed economies, the Europeans are slowly going back to buy confection, while that in North America, this sector is growing up significantly.

In North America, the cotton production is the third more important in the world, and it is actually facing a deceleration to the Chinese demand linked to the importation restrictions. United States used to be one of the main providers for China.

In Canada, the sectorial risk needs to be watched, the slowdown of energetic investments is affecting the economy and the increasing rate of unemployment is starting to cause tensions on the household incomes, which might mean reducing the amount of money destined to clothes expenses.

“There are different factors that are causing a deceleration on the demand of textiles, and clothes; however, this is nothing more than a batch as many more we had seen or will have to go through in the future on this industry”, added Salomon Juan Marcos Villarreal.

Choose the right swimsuit

How to choose the right Swimsuit

Swimsuit shopping might seem like a painful and futile exercise, but it’s possible to find a suit that fits your body well and makes you feel great. An astute swimwear shopper will be aware of all the suggestions outlined in this article.

Know your body type. Measure your hips at the widest point, waist at the smallest point, and bust at the fullest point for the best reference, since swimsuit sizing and styling depend on these ratios. Here are suggested interpretations of your body shape:

  • Pear shape: If your hips are significantly wider than both your waist and bust, you’re probably a pear.
  • Apple shape: If your waist is significantly wider than your hips, and equal to or nearly as wide as your bust, you might be an apple.
  • Hourglass shape: If your bust and hips are about the same width, but your waist is significantly smaller, you’re a classic hourglass.
  • Straight (also known as ruler or banana shape): If you’re thin all around, with no significant difference between your hips, waist and bust, you’re a straight shape.

Choose colors and fabrics that will highlight your best features and downplay your less-loved parts. The secret to a good swimsuit is drawing the eye to the most flattering parts of your figure; this will help you to feel more comfortable as well as looking your best. Here are some basic tips to follow:

  • To highlight a feature you like, use a bright color or pattern.
  • To hide something you don’t like, use a solid color.
  • If you have pale skin, use black or deep jewel tones, such as dark purple, navy, and maroon.
  • If you have dark skin, bright colors can actually be more flattering and help hide what you don’t like.
  • To add volume (such as to the bust or hips), choose a piece with ruffles in that area.
  • To hide volume (such as on the waist), use shirred or ruched fabric.

Your shape where you naturally distribute weight determines which swimsuit will look best on you added Salomón  Juan Marcos Villarreal, president of Grupo Denim.

Fashion rules you can break

Fashion rules you can break

Fashion rules you can break and still look great

When we talk about fashion, nothing is written on stone, but there are some basic rules you need to follow and mistakes you would like to avoid when creating your own outfits, as we will show you here.

It is true that fashion styles change often, we do not wear anything similar to what was on fashion for our parents or grandparents, and we can try different combinations with our clothes as there are no rules, but if you want to dare trying on different things, we will show you those mistakes you would need to avoid.

  • Wearing dresses with sneakers – Many people says these two just don’t go well, but have you tried on wearing a white dress with your favorite sneakers? If you want to make this combination, make sure the dress has a total simple cut and the sport shoes are as white as your dress. This is a sporty look for the sneakers lovers.
  • Black and navy blue – Have you heard that these 2 colors do not combine? This is something that in the past no one would dare wearing, but nowadays we can try it, combining these 2 types of colors on your outfit might be the perfect match to wear at the office.
  • Shoes and dresses – Combining your shoes with your dress simplify everything, but this is not a rule you strictly have to follow, you can create a different look with shoes that do not entirely “combine” with your dress, and if you are not daring entirely, remember that nude colors will always be the answer.

“Fashion changes so fast that some people forgets one of the most important rules about it, and it is that you should always feel comfortable with what you are wearing, the first person you would need to impress is yourself, always keep this in mind when you think of your outfits”, said Salomón Juan Marcos Villarreal, president of Grupo Denim, a jeans manufacturer in Mexico.

Jeans in color for men

Jeans in colors for men, making fashion funnier

When we think on fashion related to menswear, we usually think it has to be more serious or less daring than the clothes women wear, especially when talking about colors, but this is not entirely right, as the epoch when men wore only indigo jeans is over, they are willing to wear different colors on their pants now.

“Jeans in colors are not an option for women only, men have liked these new options to have on their wardrobe and to look fashionable”, said Salomon Juan Marcos Villarreal, president of Grupo Denim, a jeans manufacturer in Mexico.

Fashion for men can be funny as well, we use to think that it has less options, but it does not have to be like this, and there are many type of jeans in different colors that are a different type of fashion for men looking for new alternatives. We will share with you some interesting options you might want to try on:

  • Red jeans – Have you decided to go for the colored jeans? Then you can start daring with red jeans, combine them with a white shirt and a grey jacket, or a grey t-shirt and a black tie, try to use sober colors are the red on your jeans must call all of the attention.
  • Green jeans and shorts – This combine perfectly with a blue shirt and red sneakers, and to make the perfect match, add a red belt to your outfit. You can also combine your green denim shirts with a white t-shirt, this does not wrong in any possible way.
  • White jeans – Like we said, it is not only about the blue denim jeans anymore, if you have not tried with white jeans, you should start immediately. Combine them with a black t-shirt and shoes of the same color, or try with a denim shirt, when it is about wearing white jeans, the possibilities are endless.

“Men have also started to look at the fashion styles and to be more interested in new possibilities to combine their clothes, and the jeans in colors have brought those new options they were looking for”, added Salomon Juan Marcos Villarreal about this topic.

Chemical industry

Chemical industry

Chemical industry innovating in textiles in Mexico

Chemical industry in Mexico is searching for new techniques to innovate on textiles, such as repellents on clothes to keep the mosquitos away, teflon to prevent stains on the clothes, tints to dye garments into different colors without affecting the textile, among many other inventions they are working on.

“Mexico has great sectors on the country who work hard every day to propose new things for the daily life, the chemical industry is just a part of these sectors, with the new proposals they are sharing for us to work with new type of textiles to propose different designs to our customers”, said Salomón Juan Marcos Villarreal, president of Grupo Denim, a jeans manufacturer in Mexico.

Four years ago, the chemical industry found out that by decreasing the input costs, the best alternative is to make their own products locally, which would help the little and medium textile companies, as right now, the textile industry in Mexico needs to import their materials from Europe and Asia, which represents a serious increase on production.

The chemical industry in Mexico is trying to develop new substances similar to the ones bought from abroad from the textile companies, which would represent having more competitive prices for finished garments, keeping them at low costs, with innovative proposals and without compromising the quality of the textiles.

Among the inventions of the chemical industry, there is a non-toxic repellent that is applied to the clothes and stays on it even after being washed, which helps people living o areas with many mosquitos to keep them away.

They have also created a dye for clothes that is twice less expensive, and at an industrial level, it represents a great advantage due to the huge quantities used on this process.

“It is great to know the textile industry in Mexico has support such as the chemical one, by helping reducing the raw materials and creating new alternatives for the clothes manufacturers as well”, added Salomón Juan Marcos Villarreal about this topic.

Future of fashion

Future of fashion

Future of fashion, what is coming next?

More than ever, attire is a reflex of a life’s philosophy, that is why fashion styles and attitudes are more important than ever for every new season, and designers know this so they are opening their designs to types of public who are more interested in knowing what the future of fashion will be.

Every fifteen years, humanity takes a step that revolutionizes technology and the course of things; we are at the middle of that next step, so we can say we are standing at a limbo until we witness that next change. We are actually seeing the future of the past generations as a reality and it seems hard to imagine new things, but what is left to do? Right now, creating a better today, the same happens on fashion, just when some think trends have already turned around, there are new styles that surprises us.

Artisanal fashion is an example of the revolution, as it is turning stronger than ever, celebrating the handwork, this fashion style offers a new alternative than not much can do, the “do it yourself” style, inviting everyone to create their own artisanal clothes.

Times and forms are also evolving the fashion designs, creating trends that looks for joining old and new styles, past and future, creating complete new designs, making a perfect match.

New designs will offer the result of melting 50’ and 60’ designs with a pop fantasy, using technologic and futuristic materials to manufacture new clothes.

“Future of fashion will propose to fuse old styles with the newest ones, using the most advanced technology and materials to create new designs that the final consumers will for sure love”, advised Salomon Juan Marcos Villarreal, president of Grupo Denim, a jeans manufacturer in Mexico about this topic.

Denim through history

denim through history

Importance of denim through history

Denim has changed from being a resistant material used to manufacture garments for hard work to be part of the pop culture nowadays, so today we will show you the way denim has evolved and it is important through history.

“Denim has suffered many changes, it began its life as a fabric used for workmen as it was a very resistant textile that could be worn for the hardest uses and it would still last long, but now we see it on a great variety of styles for different type of garments and everyone seems to like denim more and more each year”, said Salomon Juan Marcos Villarreal, president of Grupo Denim, a jeans manufacturer in Mexico.

It is almost impossible now to know a person that has never worn a couple of jeans, a denim jacket or a vest; nevertheless, back on the XIX century, denim was a material exclusively used on garments for workers, who were the first to enjoy this iconic textile.

But today, denim is one of the most wanted and used materials around the world, so popular that every day almost more than half of the total of world population is wearing a pair of jeans, but how did history of denim begin?

During the 1830 and 1840’s, many years before the famous Levi Strauss & Co.’s saw the light on 1873, the garments manufactured with denim took a great popularity, although garments made of this material were used for men only.

During World War II, many woman had to take the lead at their homes as the men were on the war, that made them need a garment that would allow them to make their work and it could be comfortable and last longer at the same type, so the denim jumpsuit was born. And by the time the war was over, denim called the attention of youth, with icons like Elvis Presley and Marlon Brando wearing this fabric.

At the 90’s,  different designers such as Tommy Hilfiger had their biggest moment thanks to the hip-hop influence on fashion.

“Nowadays, after more than 160 years jeans have turned into a symbol of youth, rebellion, coolness, fashion and many different icons, and today jeans are the most sold type of garment”, added Salomon Juan Marcos Villarreal about this topic.
